At Apex-Pal, we believe in serving and giving from the heart. In the same spirit, helping the disadvantaged in the community is deeply rooted in the organization. We inculcate a culture of sharing and giving through one of our core values – Compassion to All.
For the past 10 years, we have been focusing on helping the elderly and intellectually disabled youths. Each year, we bring festive cheers to the elderly in the Radin Mas areas during the Lunar New Year by visiting them at their flats with essential items.
We have also adopted MINDS, or Movement for the Intellectually Disabled of Singapore as our charity. Besides employing MINDS students to do administrative work, our employees also rally together to organize outings and sushi-making classes for students from several MINDS schools. Tapping on our expertise and business, the students had a lot of fun learning the art of making sushi from our chefs. Our volunteers, too, benefited as they learn to be more patient and are able to communicate better.
In a further effort to give staff more flexibility and encourage more participation, we give staff a one-day Voluntary Leave if they choose to help out at a charity of their choice.
Even as Apex-Pal prospers, we hope to give back to society and make a difference to the lives of these less fortunate in Singapore.
